Zimbabwe records 24 new coronavirus cases, only 4 recoveries

Zimbabwe today recorded 24 new coronavirus cases but only four recoveries resulting in the number of active cases increasing by 20 to 195.

Eleven of the new cases were in Bulawayo and another 11 in the Midlands.

The number of active cases in Bulawayo rose to 92 while those for the Midlands went up to 20.

Harare remained static at 22 and Mashonaland West has 21.

Zimbabwe now has 8 099 cases which include 7 673 recoveries and 231 deaths.

Globally there are now 39.5 million cases which include 1.11 million deaths, 29.5 million recoveries and 8.9 million active cases.

The number of active cases is increasing globally and the United Kingdom currently at number 12 could overtake South Africa at number 11 over the weekend.
