Zimbabwe records 107 more coronavirus cases as it tightens lockdown

Zimbabwe today recorded 107 more coronavirus cases as President Emmerson Mnangagwa tightened lockdown measures including a dusk to dawn curfew with effect from tomorrow.

The country now has 1 820 cases, 956 of which are local transmissions and 864 imported ones.

It has so far tested 105 121 people and has 1 306 active cases.

Twenty-six people have died and 488, including 16 today, have recovered.

Harare has once again overtaken Bulawayo in the number of cases and now has 552, and Bulawayo 546.

Globally, the number of cases is now about 15 million. This includes 615 900 deaths, nearly nine million recoveries ad 5.4 million active cases.

South Africa now has 373 628 cases out of 742 633 for the whole of Africa.
