Zimbabwe ranked 46 out of 52 in governance index

Zimbabwe has been ranked 46 out of 52 in the 2014 Ibrahim Index of African governance beating only the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Central African Republic and Somalia. Zimbabwe scored only 38 points while Somalia stood at only 8.6 points. The countries are measured on four major categories: safety and rule of law; participation and human rights; sustainable economic opportunity; and human development but they have 14 sub-categories. Mauritius topped the list followed by Cape Verde, Botswana, South Africa and Seychelles. Mauritius scored 81.7 points.
