Zimbabweans have been waiting for the results for the past three days.
The Constitution says they should be announced within five days.
Anxiety for the results resulted in violence which left three people dead yesterday.
Though observers have condemned the security forces for over-reacting, supporters of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front whose property was destroyed during the disturbances said the damage would have been worse if the security forces had not quickly moved in quickly and with force.
