Despite the political bickering, Zimbabwe is among the 10 fastest growing African countries according to the African Development Bank. The ADB’s economic outlook for 2001 showed that Zimbabwe was growing faster than the Southern African powerhouse, South Africa. It grew by 7.8 percent while South Africa recorded a 3.6 percent growth.
