Zimbabwe outlines conditions for millers to receive maize subsidy

Zimbabwe today outlined conditions for millers to receive maize subsidies which include registering with the Agricultural Marketing Authority, the Grain Marketing Board, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority and the Standard Development Fund.

Millers will be issued a government vendor number by treasury.

They must also have a grain milling licence and confirmation letter from the Grain Marketing Board.

Zimbabwe decided to subsidy maize after prices of mealie meal rocketed.

Some 8 million people, 2.2 million in urban areas, are said to be in need of food aid.
