This is the lowest inflation figure since August 2019 when it stood at 288.6% up from 230.4% in July.
Month-on-month inflation dropped by 1.19 percentage points from 3.45% in February to 2.26%. The central bank wants it to be below one percent by the end of the year.
The national statistics agency, Zimstat says the food poverty line for March for one person was $4 033.27 up from $3 934.21 in February.
The total consumption poverty line for one person went up from $5 187.31 to $5 312.21.
