Zimbabwe Health Minister arrested as coronavirus cases increase to 479

Zimbabwe Health Minister Obadiah Moyo has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission in connection the procurement of coronavirus equipment and is due to appear in court tomorrow.

At the same time the number of coronavirus cases continued to rise with 16 new cases today, increasing the total to 479.

Five of the cases were returning residents from South Africa while the remaining 11 were local infections.

Zimbabwe now has 412 active cases.

Globally there are now 8.7million cases which include just over 459 200 deaths, 4.6 million people that have recovered and 3.7 million active cases.

Brazil which has the second highest number of deaths is fast approaching 50000 deaths.

It stands at 48 400 deaths.

It had 29 300 deaths at the beginning of this month.
