Zimbabwe has six more coronavirus deaths but more people continue to recover

Zimbabwe had six coronavirus deaths yesterday, all of them from Harare, but 257 people recovered reducing the number of active cases from 1 312 to 1 132.

It had 70 new cases pushing the tally to 5 378 but 4 105 people have recovered and 141 have died.

The country yesterday reviewed curfew hours to start from 8pm instead of 6pm but still end at 6am.

Businesses are now allowed to operate from 8am to 4.30pm. They were closing at 3pm.

South Africa is also showing a lot of progress. The number of cases has risen to 592 144 and 12 264 people have died but the number of active cases is down to 94 412.

Globally there are 22.3 million cases which include 784 300 deaths, 15 million recoveries and 6.5 million active cases.
