Zimbabwe Finance Minister to present mid-term review next week

Zimbabwe Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube will present his mid-term review on Thursday next week.

Ncube had been asked to make a ministerial statement on the state of the economy in Parliament today but Speaker Jacob Mudenda told the House that the minister had requested that since he is going to present his mid-term review he be excused from making the statement today so that it forms part of the review on 16 July.

Ncube has been under pressure to resign for failing to resuscitate the country’s economy.

Movement for Democratic Change vice-president Tendai Biti told Parliament last month: “The minister has failed in absolute terms and must resign. We are gravely concerned about the continuous shifting of our Monetary Policy. We are concerned particularly about the constant changes to our Monetary Policy.”
