Zimbabwe extends shopping hours as country records no coronavirus death for 3 days

Zimbabwe today announced that it is extending shop operating hours from tomorrow as the country went for the third day without any coronavirus death.

Shops were operating from 8.30 to 16.30 but will operate from 6.30 to 18.30 from tomorrow.

Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, however, warned the people that the country was not out of the woods yet.

The country recorded five new coronavirus cases today but no deaths for the third day running.

It also recorded 12 recoveries with the 6 remaining cases in Masvingo all recovering leaving the province with no active case.

Zimbabwe now has 7 531 cases but some 5 690people have recovered and 224 have died.

There are now 1 617 active cases, 1 049 of them in Harare.

Mashonaland East has nine cases and Matebeleland North 11.

There are now 29.4 million cases across the globe with 931 000 deaths.

Some 21.2 million have recovered but there are still 7.3 million active cases.
