Three years ago the United Nations Development Programme admitted that vehicles registered in its name were used at River Ranch Mine near Beitbridge but claims that the vehicles were fraudulently registered. The vehicles were allegedly used to smuggle diamonds to South Africa. The use of UNDP registered vehicles, and the technical assistance to the mine itself have raised questions which remains unanswered to this day.
