Zimbabwe coronavirus deaths, cases up but situation seems to be improving

Zimbabwe today recoded 20 deaths and 266 new cases up from 17 deaths and 160 new cases yesterday but the situation seems to be improving as the seven-day rolling average for new cases dropped from 272 yesterday to 258 today.

The total number of deaths has risen to 1 254 and that of cases to 33 814.

Only 211 people recovered today bringing the total to 26 794.

The number of active cases rose slightly to 5 766 with Harare accounting for 297 followed by Manicaland with 733 and Mashonaland East 604. Bulawayo has 423 active cases.

The United Sates should surpass 27 million cases by tomorrow morning and already has more than 456 000 deaths.

Globally there are 104.2 million cases of which 25.9 million are still active.

The whole of Africa only has 3.6 million cases 40% of which are in South Africa.
