Zimbabwe coronavirus cases surpass 5 000

Zimbabwe today recorded 82 new coronavirus cases pushing its tally to 5 072.

It also had 71 recoveries raising the number to 1 998.

There were no deaths in the past 24 hours.

The number of active cases rose slightly to 2 946.

Globally, there are now 21.2 million cases.

These include 760 200 deaths, 14 million recoveries and 6.4 million active cases.

India, which has the third highest number of cases, seems to be fast catching up with Brazil.

It has 2.5 million cases against Brazil’s 3.2 million.

The United States has 5.4 million cases.
