Zimbabwe extended its Level 4 lockdown by two weeks last Monday and is due to roll-out its nationwide vaccination programme tomorrow. It kicked off in Harare on Thursday.
Information Secretary Nick Mangwana said more than 8 000 health workers in Bulawayo have registered to be vaccinated from tomorrow.
Zimbabwe received 200 000 doses of vaccine from Sinopharm on Monday and is due to receive another 600 000 doses.
The number of active cases is also dropping globally and now stands at 22.2 million. There are now 111.8 million cases, 2.48 million deaths and 87.1 million recoveries.
In neighbouring South Africa the number of active cases has dropped to 43 874. The country has recorded 1.5 million cases, including 48 940 deaths.
