“Don’t let negative people ruin your positive mindset. Let them go before they completely infiltrate your mind. Such people have issues with themselves and with everything and everyone around them. Make a conscious effort to stay away from them. Don’t entertain such friendship!” Mufti Ismail Menk told Ugandan youths in a sermon on Friday.
He added: “When provoked, respond with peace, this is what Allah wants.”
“All the youth should be saying I will use my energy to do good things…. You should be assets and not liabilities to this beautiful country Allah has given you,” he said.
Mufti Menk is the most followed Zimbabwean on twitter with 4.45 million followers.
Zimbabweans could also do with his message on peace which said: “A good rule to live by; if you stop fueling a fire, it will burn itself out. If you stop fueling an argument with harsh words, it will stop eventually. But if you choose to engage with hurtful words it will get worse. The choice is yours. Learn to keep the peace as best you can.”
