Zimbabwe business to raise $100 million for Cyclone Idai

Zimbabwe business has pledges to raise $100 million to help restore infrastructure and services in areas that were affected by Cyclone Idai which hit the country mid-last month.

The government has also allocated $100 million for the same purpose.

Nearly 270 people are said to have been killed by the cyclone while another 300 are said to be missing.

According to The Herald more than 21 000 people were displaced mostly in Chimanimani and Chipinge which were the worst affected.

Aid has been pouring into the country to help the survivors but there are fears that it will be looted.
