Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commissioners resign

Members of Zimbabwe’s Anti-Corruption Commission, which is tasked with dealing with the country’s worst scourge, have all resigned today paving way for President Emmerson Mnangagwa to appoint a new commission.

The members resigned after the chairman Job Whabira tendered his resignation.

The President appoints the chair of the commission and selects the remainder from candidates submitted by Parliament’s Standing Rules and Orders Committee.

He appoints eight members from a list of not less than 12 nominees submitted by the committee.
