It had initially said it would file the papers on Monday but could not do so since yesterday and today are public holidays.
Chamisa is asking the Constitutional Court to declare him the winner or to call for fresh elections.
ZANU-PF Secretary for Legal Affairs Paul Munyaradzi Mangwana said the Alliance had filed its papers late and at the wrong address and sought the application to be dismissed.
Alliance lawyer, Thabani Mpofu, claimed ZANU-PF lawyers were in a panic mode because of the overwhelming evidence submitted by the Alliance that is why they were seeking to have the case dismissed on technical grounds.
Mpofu said results from polling stations showed that Chamisa polled 2 674 032 votes against Emmerson Mnangagwa’s 2 008 639 votes.
The official results said Mnangagwa won 2 460 463 against Chamisa’s 2 147 437.
