What Wikileaks said about Zimbabwe’s richest man

The rise of Donald Trump, seemingly from nowhere to become United States president, has sparked debate that Zimbabwe too can look to its rich folk to rescue the country.

Strive Masiyiwa, Econet boss and Zimbabwe’s richest man according to the Forbes list which is based on publicly traded stock, seems to top the list.

Though he has publicly denied that he is not interested in politics, his actions say something else.

Masiyiwa has been building a massive communications empire which includes the print media and television, mobile phones and banks. And he has been dining with presidents.

The Insider must confess that it may be biased against him because of a small incident 26 years ago. So did the United States say about him through its embassies in Harare and Pretoria?
