The Member of Parliament for Glen View Fani Munengami yesterday asked what was the purpose of having question time in parliament every Wednesday when ministers, who were supposed to answer the questions, were not in the house.
He rose on a point of order after several questions that had been asked were answered by deputy ministers.
“The reason why we have question time on Wednesdays is to ask policy questions to ministers. What purpose does it serve to ask policy questions to deputy ministers who do not even sit in cabinet and you can see from the answers which we are getting from them, it shows that in terms of information …” he said before being interrupted and being told that there was no point of order.
Irene Zindi also rose later to ask why Paddy Zhanda, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture responsible for livestock was answering questions about crops.
