What next after week of prayers- Chamisa speaks

Movement for Democratic Change leader Nelson Chamisa today thanked Zimbabweans for supporting his week of prayer and fasting which ended yesterday but added that faith without works is dead.

He said the party was going to take decisive action in peace and non-violence but did not give a date saying this will be announced in due course.

He said the prayers were necessary because “there is no dialogue between man and man which is not ordained by the Lord”.

“So dialogue with our Maker is very important and now that we have dialogued with our God, we have to dialogue man between man.”

Chamisa has refused to join the current dialogue initiated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa insisting that he will only join a dialogue that is presided over by external conveners because Mnangagwa’s leadership is in dispute.

Chamisa has refused to recognise Mnangagwa arguing that he won last year’s presidential elections but he lost the case in court.

The Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front says there is no way Mnangagwa will dialogue with Chamisa unless he recognises him as the country’s legitimate President first.
