Voters and not the party should make sure Mugabe does his job- survey

Voters and not the party or Parliament should make sure that once elected the president does his job, a survey just released by Afrobarometer says.

According to the survey, 42 percent of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front supporters gave this responsibility to voters against 13 percent to the party and 21 percent to Parliament.

Fifty-two percent of the Movement for Democratic Change supporters gave this role to voters, while only 10 percent felt it was the responsibility of the party and 25 percent that of Parliament.

A greater percentage of men felt it was the voters’ responsibility.

This was the same with people from urban areas and those with post secondary school education.
