Tsvangirai popular by default

Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai must now be aware that the West only wants him for one thing- to get rid of Mugabe. After that he too can go hang. This was clearly demonstrated by the release of a diplomatic cable by former United States ambassador to Zimbabwe Christopher Dell in which he clearly stated that Tsvangirai was “flawed” but the West had no other credible leader who could steer the “opposition” or who had the potential to get Mugabe out. We have always argued that Tsvangirai is popular by default. Here is a story we wrote before Wikileaks on why we felt Tsvangirai was popular by default.
