Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai and Mavambo-Kusile-Dawn leader Simba Makoni together formed a coalition with Reketai Sengwayo of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Ndoga to present a single candidate in the presidential election due on 31 July. They are fielding Tsvangirai but it is not clear how they will contest at the local level since nominations for the elections closed a week ago and parties fielded their candidates.
