Togolese President tells Zimbabwe to improve business climate

Togolese President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé says African countries must change ways of doing business and adopt aggressive mechanisation to realise economic transformation.

Officially opening the 57th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) yesterday, Gnassingbé said industrialisation could unlock employment opportunities and also help in value addition, curbing exportation of raw materials.

“Industrialisation calls for certain strategies. We must improve the business climate. Effective administrations should be in place, we must fight corruption,” he said.

He encouraged Africa to speed up integration by putting up complementary projects.

“Integration is a dream that Africa has dreamt of since the beginning of independence on the continent. We inherited Africa with artificial boundaries which hindered integration,” Gnassingbe said.

“Innovation can also be through efficiency. It can also be through funding. It can also be through some rural activities,” he said.
He said this year, once again, the ZITF did not depart from its reputation of quality which was testified by the presence of a number

of international exhibitors.-The Source
