Hurungwe West Member of Parliament and Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front chairman for Mashonaland West, Temba Mliswa, has been fingered in a US$165 million scandal that could rope in ZANU-PF’s fourth most powerful man Didymus Mutasa.
According to The Herald, Mliswa is reported to have admitted to demanding at least US$165 million in “consultancy” fees from Bill Rautenbach to facilitate his investments in Hwange Colliery, Unki Mine and Green Fuels.
The scandal could suck in ZANU-PF Secretary for Administration Didymus Mutasa, the fourth highest ranking official after President Robert Mugabe, ice-President Joice Mujuru and national chairman Simon Khaya Moyo, whom Mliswa described as his uncle.
The Herald said it could also rope in politburo member Tendai Savanhu, currently Deputy Minister of Lands, and former chairman of Manicaland Province, Basil Nyabadza, who has been touted as one of the brains behind the Chisumbanje ethanol project.
Former Mines Minister Obert Mpofu’s name also popped up.
