Supa Mandiwanzira released on $2 000 bail

Nyanga South legislator and former Information Communication Technology minister Supa Mandiwanzira who is facing two counts of criminal abuse of office was today released on $2 000 bail.

He was not asked to plead and was remanded to 30 November.

Mandiwanzira was ordered not to interfere with State witnesses who include the chairman of the Posts and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Ozias Bvute, the permanent secretary of the ICT ministry Samuel Kundishora, former NetOne chairman Alex Marufu, former NetOne chief executive Reward Kangai and NetOne chief commercial officer Brian Mutandiro.

He was also ordered to surrender title deeds of one of his properties and his passport.

Mandiwanzira is accused of awarding an audit contract worth $5 million to Megawatt company in which he is said to have an interest as well as appointing his personal assistant Tawanda Chinembiri to the POTRAZ board without following due process.
