Price of fuel in Zimbabwe doubles following new auction forex rate

The price of fuel in Zimbabwe doubled today with petrol costing $71.62 and diesel $62.77 in line with the new exchange rate determined by yesterday foreign exchange auction.

At the new rate petrol is US$1.28 and diesel US$1.09.

This is more expensive than the price at some service stations that sell fuel in forex. They are selling diesel at US$0.90 with petrol going for US$1 or US$1.05.

However, yesterday some money changers were buying a US dollar for $75 which means that for those with forex, the price of both diesel ad petrol are still below a US dollar.
