Pressure continues to pile on Kasukuwere to go

Pressure continues to pile on Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere to go.

This time, the party’s youth league, which has supported the Minister of Local Government all along and has been associated with the G40 faction is reported to have dumped him.

Newsday, however, reports that youth leader Kudzanai Chipanga refused to confirm this saying “the issue is now beyond the youth league because the President has indicated that it will be discussed by the politburo at our next meeting. It would not be right for us to comment.”

The youth leader added:  “The youth league stands with the President and the First Lady. These are the people we will die for and we are ready for that anytime. Any other member of the party we respect and especially those in the higher echelons. They are our elders, but we stand with the President and the First Lady only.”

Six out of the party’s 10 provinces have already voted to kick Kasukuwere out.
