Police today said they had launched an investigation into how US$20 million which was invested by Finance Minister Tendai Biti with Interfin Bank disappeared. The money was part of a US$500 million International Monetary Fund emergency package and Interfin was appointed to be the fund manager for the $20 million. “Yes the money is missing. The fact that Interfin was appointed the fund manager means it was them who were handling the money and not me,” Biti told a local newspaper.
