The chairman of the National Constitutional Assembly Lovemore Madhuku today said the organisation which has fought for constitutional reform for more than a decade will be turned into a political party. Spokesman Madock Chivasa said: “Our position is now that the country has a new constitution, there is no longer any need for the NCA in its current form. We are therefore transforming the organisation into a political party. We were hoping for a post-election launch but with the MDCs pushing for a delay, we have to reconsider our position. That was the message the chairman conveyed to the workers on May Day.”
