Yesterday 3 061 people were tested and the positivity rate was 12%. Today 3 666 were tested and the rate was 8.2%.
The number of cases rose to 32 304.
Nineteen people died of the virus today raising the death toll to 1 122.
Only 274 people recovered bringing the total to 23 687.
The number of active cases rose slightly to 7 495 with Harare having 3 030, Manicaland 938, Mashonaland West 681and Bulawayo 425.
Acting President Constantino Chiwenga today said that the fight against the pandemic would be difficult, but it could be won with unity of purpose.
Speaking at the burial of Foreign Affairs Minister Sibusiso Moyo, Transport Minister Joel Matiza and former prisons chief Paradzayi Zimondi, who all succumbed to the virus, Chiwenga said: “Yes it is not a stroll in the park, what is crucial at this stage is to share a collective identity as a people with a rich diversity paying special attention to our beliefs, affiliations and values. The time is up for that unity of diversity to be viewed as a strength and not as a weakness.”
