New coronavirus cases in Zimbabwe down to 3

Zimbabwe today recorded only three new coronavirus cases out of 660 people that were tested but two people died, one from Bulawayo and the other from Mashonaland Central.

The death toll now stands at 1 512. Cases have risen to 36 665 and recoveries to 34 269.

Twelve people recovered today leaving 884 active cases- 439 in Harare, 204 in Matebeleland North, 97 in Bulawayo and 57 in Manicaland.

Vaccination continued at a slower pace with 519 getting the jab today to bring the total to 42 729.

Schools open tomorrow and they could be an indicator of how well the country has managed the pandemic if numbers do not suddenly shoot up.
