President Robert Mugabe is reported to have told South African interviewer Dali Thambo that it is not yet time for him to step down because his people still needed him. Mugabe who is 89 and will be contesting presidential elections for another five year term said: “My people still need me. And when people still need you to lead them it’s not time, sir, it doesn’t matter how old you are, to say goodbye.”
