Singer and businessman Energy Mutodi has been denied bail because he is facing serious charges and could flee the country, magistrate Elisha Singano said, according to The Standard.
Mutodi was arrested on Thursday over a facebook post in which he was discussing the succession issue.
His Lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa said Mutodi will challenge his arrest when he appears in court again on 25 August.
He argues that his arrest was an infringement of his right to freedom of expression which is enshrined in the country’s constitution.
