Beleaguered former Vice-President Joice Mujuru has suffered another blow, according to The Herald. She is no longer a Member of Parliament. The paper says she ceased to be one 15 months ago when she was appointed Vice-President. Mujuru has lost her vice-president’s post, her politburo and central committee seats in the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front, and now her parliamentary seat. The paper has been on Mujuru’s back since she fell out of favour following allegations that she had been plotting to oust President Robert Mugabe. Mujuru has taken everything in her stride and has even congratulated her archrival Emmerson Mnangagwa. But National Constitutional Assembly leader Lovemore Madhuku has taken the case to court arguing that the appointments of Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko were unconstitutional. Mujuru should therefore be restored. Former ZANU-PF secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa has appealed to South African President Jacob Zuma to nullify the congress and thus restore Mujuru and himself.
