Mujuru: I can never be expelled from the original and genuine ZANU-PF

Former Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front Vice-President Joice Mujuru has reportedly said she can never be expelled from the party. Mujuru was expelled last week for, among others:  plotting to unconstitutionally remove President Robert Mugabe from office; orchestrating the ‘bhora musango’ campaign of 2008 to the detriment of the party’s interests; orchestrating factionalism in the party thereby causing acrimonious divisions; abusing party structures to create a competing centre of national power; engaging in behaviour unbecoming of a Vice President; systematically collaborating and colluding with the enemy in a manner that undermines the party and risked bringing it into disrepute; engaging in activities that smack of corruption; engaging in criminal abuse of office; impugning, maligning and undermining the party and the President; and providing leadership to the regime change agenda and Fifth Column politics within ZANU-PF.  According to the French news agency, AFP, Mujuru said the decision to expel her was based on an "unsubstantiated, malicious and hateful campaign". The agency also quoted her as saying: "I am one who can never be expelled from the original and genuine ZANU-PF." The agency did not say anything about her forming a splinter party. There have been rampant reports that Mujuru and other expelled members such as Didymus Mutasa and Rugare Gumbo intend to form a splinter party also named ZANU-PF. Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the biggest beneficiary from the expulsion of the former senior members, said there was no split in the party. He likened those making noise to puppies barking as a passing elephant.
