Mugabe sent Bush a message of condolence on 911

President Robert Mugabe sent United States President George Bush a message of condolence on the 9 September2001 attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Centre saying this could only be the work of the most remorseless and hardened enemies of the United States and all peace loving people in the world.

The message was sent a day after the attacks.

DEAR MR. PRESIDENT,

 

I HAVE LEARNT WITH A DEEP SENSE OF SHOCK, HORROR AND

UTTER DISBELIEF OF THE GHASTLY ATTACKS ON THE PENTAGON,

THE WORLD TRADE CENTRE AND OTHER TARGETS. THESE ATTACKS

APPEAR TO BE THE ACTIONS OF WHAT CAN ONLY BE THE MOST

REMORSELESS AND HARDENED ENEMIES OF THE UNITED STATES

GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE, AND INDEED, OF ALL THE PEACE-

LOVING PEOPLE OF THE WIDER WORLD.

 

MY GOVERNMENT, THE PEOPLE OF ZIMBABWE AND I PERSONALLY,
