Mugabe burial grossly overshadows MDC anniversary

The 20th anniversary of the Movement for Democratic Change might have attracted a bigger crowd than former President Robert Mugabe’s his burial at his rural village at Kutama today but Mugabe’s burial grossly overshadowed the MDC celebrations at Rufaro Stadium proving that even in death Mugabe is still a cash-cow for most journalists.

Mugabe died on 6 September in Singapore and was only buried today despite being declared a national hero.

Ironically MDC leader Nelson Chamisa, a pastor, today retweeted a tweet from journalist Brezh Malaba which said:  “Robert Mugabe was convinced that some Zimbabwean politicians would try to abuse his body for ritualistic purposes. It may sound ridiculous & outlandish to the uninitiated, but these beliefs &practices cannot be wished away. Witchcraft, animism, voodoism are part of African philosophy.”
