The world has been awash with news that President Robert Mugabe has been appointed a United Nations tourism ambassador because Zimbabwe and Zambia are hosting the World Tourism Organisation conference next year. The UNWTO is under attack for honouring someone with such an appalling human rights record like Mugabe. The move seems to have irked a lot of Mugabe critics coming only days after another UN official Navi Pillay said the West should lift sanctions on Zimbabwe because they are hurting the wrong people.
