Mthuli Ncube announces 9-member Foreign Currency Allocation Committee

Zimbabwe Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube today announced a nine-member male dominated Foreign Currency Allocation Committee but it does not include any person from the business sector.

He said this was in line with what he set out in his 2019 budget which he announced on 22 November last year.

The members are A Chikondo from the Office of the President and Cabinet, ZR Churu and D Muchemwa from the Ministry of Finance, F Makombe from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, M Mudzinganyama from the Ministry of Energy and A Saburi, F Masendu, G Mawire and E Matiza from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

Only one member, F. Makombe, is a woman.

Ncube said the committee will be co-chaired by senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
