More Zimbabweans expect life to be better within the next 12 months-survey

More Zimbabweans expect life to be better in the next 12 months than those who think it will be worse, according to a survey y African think-tank, Afrobarometer.

The think-tank’s round seven survey has come up with a number of surprises including that the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front would win the elections if they were held tomorrow.

It also said more people trust President Robert Mugabe than those who do not with a staggering 43 percent saying they trust him a lot against a paltry 14 percent that said they did not trust him at all.

The poll showed that 24 percent of those surveyed thought that things would be better in 12 months against 19percent that said they would be worse.

More women than men thought things would be better.

An improvement in the economy ahead of elections would be disastrous for the opposition as Zimbabweans tend to prefer the status quo when they have enough food and feel secure.
