Zimbabwe has the third highest number of African nationals in British jails according to figures released by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Prisons and Probation Crispin Blunt yesterday.
It had 172 people in British jails out of a total of 2 503 African nationals as at the end of September this year. Nigeria topped the list with 581 followed by Somalia with 444.
There was a total of 87 501 prisoners in British jails with 74 738 being nationals.
