Mnangagwa safe – Mugabe clinging to power because he knows he cannot win an election

Former Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who was sacked on Monday is safe and is at a place where assassins cannot reach him, war veterans leader Christopher Mutsvangwa said in South Africa today.

“The vice president is safe…he is in a place where assassins can no longer reach him‚” Mutsvangwa said according to the Sowetan.

Mutsvangwa said the firing of Mnangagwa was Grace Mugabe’s work and described her as “clinically mad”.

The war veterans leader said President Robert Mugabe had now outraged the entire nation with his further attempts to cling to power until his death.

“They know they are unpopular‚ they cannot win an election. That is why they are trying to seize power now. They are trampling on every aspect of the law,” he said.
