Mnangagwa appoints new ministers for Transport and Foreign Affairs

Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Zimbabwe’s ambassador to the United States Frederick Shava as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chikomba legislator Felix Mhona as Minister of Transport.

Shava, whose appointment will only take effect after he becomes a senator for the Midlands, replaces Sibusiso Moyo who was a senator from the same province while Mhona replaces Joel Biggie Matiza who was also from Mashonaland East.

Moyo and Matiza both died from coronavirus last month.

Mnangagwa shifted Michael Madiro from Deputy Minister of Home Affairs to Deputy Minister of Transport. He was replaced by Ruth Mavhungu Maboyi as deputy Minister of Home Affairs.

Former journalist Kindness Paradza was appointed Deputy Minister of Information while Chimanimani West legislator Nokuthula Matsikenyere was appointed Minister of Provincial Affairs for Manicaland replacing another female minister Ellen Gwaradzimba who died of coronavirus last month.
