Mnangagwa appoints 20-member cabinet, Ncube Finance Minister

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed his long-awaited 20-member cabinet which includes new faces like Mthuli Ncube as Minister of Finance and Kirsty Coventry and Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation.

Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front chairperson Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri was appointed Minister of Defence.

Long-standing ministers who were left out of the cabinet include Obert Mpofu, Patrick Chinamasa, Mike Bimha,Simon Khaya Moyo, David Parirenyatwa and Supa Mandiwanzira.

Mnangagwa did not include anyone from the Movement for Democratic Change Alliance killing speculation that has been doing the rounds that he is trying to rope in party leader Nelson Chamisa.

The Ministers will be sworn in on Monday.

In an opinion piece for the Source Mthuli Ncube said one of the first things he would do is to abandon the bond notes.
