Mine in Hwange hit by coronavirus outbreak

The Ministry of Health today said there has been an outbreak of coronavirus at a mine in Hwange where 18 people tested positive but it did not name the mine.

The 18 were part of 27 cases recorded today. There was also one death and 21 recoveries.

The number of active cases has risen to 1 395 with Matebeleland South static at 528, Harare down to 375, Manicaland still at 268 and Bulawayo at 122.

Matebeleland North has 33 cases including the 18 recoded today.

The vaccination programme slowed a little to 11 661 first timers raising the number of those vaccinated so far to 319 732. Those fully vaccinated now number 46 253 after 2 525 got their second jab today.
