Mawarire trial starts

Zimbabwean activist pastor Evan Mawarire today appeared in court charged with subversion and inciting people to cause public violence.

The charges stem from his involvement in organising last year’s shut-down.

Mawarire pleaded not guilty and his trial continues tomorrow.

He was also arrested yesterday on another chare of subversion this time for a video he posted on facebook.

He is still to be charged.
