Pastor Evan Mawarire who was arrested yesterday on arrival from the United States was today charged with plotting to overthrow the government and insulting the national flag .
Mawarire organised demonstrations through the social media under his #ThisFlag and is accused of inciting the public to revolt against a constitutionally elected government.
He is likely to face a 20-year jail term is convicted.
Mawarire is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
